How to order & FAQ’s

Q. What wedding stationery do I need?

Your wedding invitations are the first impression that your guest will have of your forthcoming wedding and the overall style of the celebration. So when the day comes to announce your wedding to all your friends and family, you will want to make sure it is with impact and style.

From the save the date cards or wedding invitations to the wedding breakfast stationery and thank you cards - your wedding stationery sets the scene and tone for your wedding day and stamps your style on the wedding that will leave a lasting impression on all your guests.

Your requirements depend entirely on what kind of wedding you are planning and of course your budget! There are no set rules as to what you have to order, the choice is entirely up to you. To set a budget it helps to make a list of all the invitations and other stationery that you need and then if the budget allows you can consider the additional extras that you can afford to add those stylish extra touches to your wedding.

Q. When do we need to send out the Wedding Invitations?

The invitations are usually sent out two to four months in advance of the wedding date to make sure everyone has plenty of time to sort out travel and accommodation and to send out a reply. If many of your guests are travelling from abroad, or you are getting married during the busy periods of Christmas and summer you may want to send the invitations out earlier or consider sending a save the date card. Invitations should not be sent any later than six weeks before the wedding.

Q. How about the Evening Invitations?

Evening invitations are sent out to the guests that you would like to invite to the evening celebration only. Perhaps you want to have a very intimate ceremony and wedding breakfast but have a large number of family and friends that you would like to invite to help to celebrate after the ceremony.

These invitations are usually sent out at the same time as the day invitations so that there is no confusion as to which guests are invited to the different parts of the wedding, also to ensure you have accurate replies well before finalising your wedding reception. Evening invitations should ideally be of a similar theme to the day invitations but can often be a simpler design allowing you to keep costs down.

Q. How many invitations do I need to order?

You will need one invitation per household.  Don't worry if you discover that you need extras though there is no minimum order quantity.

Q.  How much will my wedding stationery cost?

Because East View Designs offers a very flexible and bespoke design service to all customers I am unable to list a price for every individual circumstance. Because my prices are flexible I can work with you and create something to suit your individual budget. For example, if you want simple invites, with no frills, I can reflect this in our price to you.  Alternatively you can tell me how much you have to spend, and I can work out the best way to use your budget for a design that is perfect and unique to you.

Q. How do I place an order with East View Designs?

Easy, email or phone myself (Lisa) on 07977 799019 for an initial complimentary consultation. Let me know what themes/colour schemes/ideas you have in mind and then we’ll work with your ideas to come up with your final design. If there is something in particular that you have seen and would really like then either email or post me some pictures and then I can work with them.

Q. Will I see a proof of the design?

You will see a proof of all the items that you order for you to check the details and spellings. Please email with confirmation/amendments. Stationery will not be printed until full approval has been given. Please check the details very carefully as East View Designs cannot be held responsible for any errors that are discovered afterwards.

Q. When do I pay for my stationery?

Once everything has been chosen and approved and you have placed your order, I will send you an invoice for 50% of the order as a deposit.  Upon receipt, I will produce your invitations and send an invoice for the balance amount.  Your order will be despatched as soon as payment has been received.

Q. When will I receive my stationery?

Please allow approximately 2-3 weeks for production and delivery. If you need a quicker turnaround, please do not hesitate to ask.

Q. Can I have the guest’s names printed on the invitations?

The prices of the invitations include the guests names being printed on them. I will require the names printing or typing and either emailing or posting to East View Designs.

Q. Are envelopes provided with the invitations?

Yes all invitations come with envelopes. These can either be supplied blank or I can type names and addresses on them for a small fee.

Q. When do I need to order Thank You cards?

Please stipulate whether you will need these when you order your initial stationery. I can then ensure that you have seen a proof before you go on honeymoon and I can get them ready for you whilst you are away so that they are ready for you to send out on your return.

Q. Do I have to pay for delivery of my stationery?

All items are subject to a delivery charge unless you are local to me and then you are welcome to collect them or I will personally deliver them to yourself. I will send out orders via Royal Mail Special Delivery which is guaranteed for the next day and includes insurance of up to £500.00. Delivery will require a signature so please inform me if you have any specific delivery instructions or an alternative delivery address.
